About the Siemens Engineering Bursary
Siemens is inviting applications for its 2025 Engineering Bursary Programme, aimed at supporting students in pursuing qualifications identified as scarce skills in South Africa.
Bursaries will be awarded for full-time studies in the following fields:
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current) – BEng / BSc
- Electronic Engineering – BEng / BSc
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics) – BEng
As part of the bursary programme, recipients will be required to complete vacation work at Siemens to gain practical experience.

Selection Process– 2025 Engineering Bursary
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a virtual video interview with Siemens.
- Students who successfully pass the interview will be awarded the bursary.
- If you do not receive feedback, consider your application unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements – 2025 Engineering Bursary
To apply, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be aged 18 to 25 years old.
- Be unemployed.
- Be in Matric (2024) or have completed Matric.
- Be studying or planning to study full-time towards one of the listed qualifications in 2025.
- Be enrolled or accepted at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Have achieved a minimum level 5 in the following Matric subjects:
- English
- Pure Mathematics
- Physical Science
- Maintain an average of 65% or higher in your current studies (Matric or tertiary).
- Be passionate about Engineering and Technology.
- Not be receiving funding from NSFAS or any other bursary/scholarship.
- Meet the registration requirements of your tertiary institution.
- Preference will be given to applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds.
