The Reatile Foundation Trust is currently accepting applications for the 2025 academic year bursaries. These bursaries will be awarded to undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in the following fields of study:
- Accounting
- Chemical Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
The bursary will cover various expenses, including registration fees, tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, and a meal allowance.

Please note:
If a student fails a subject, they will be responsible for the cost of any rewrite. Additionally, the Reatile Trust will only sponsor a student once per level of study. Graduates with qualifications that align with scarce and critical skills may also have the opportunity to apply for an internship at Egoli Gas.
Eligibility Requirements – Engineering and Account Bursaries
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to apply:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be black (as defined by the BEE Act)
- Have completed Matric
- Be studying full-time at the University of Johannesburg (UJ)
- Be entering the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study in 2025
- Have obtained a minimum overall aggregate of 65% in 2024
- Be in financial need
- Have a combined household income of no more than R30 000 per month
- Not be receiving any other financial support from a third-party bursary
- Have a strong desire to make a positive impact
