Bursary for culinary Covers the following:

The Capsicum Culinaire Challenge bursary covers tuition for the following programmes designed to transform students into skilled professionals in the culinary and pastry arts:

  1. Foundational Cookery Programme
    • Duration: 6 months
    • Qualification: NQF Level 3, SAQA ID: 110354
    • Value: R21,500
  2. Professional Chef Programme
    • Duration: 1 year
    • Qualification: NQF Level 4, SAQA ID: 102296
    • Value: R96,500
  3. Professional Patisserie Programme
    • Duration: 1 year
    • Qualification: City & Guilds Qualification Patisserie 8064-02
    • Value: R96,300

Note: The bursary covers tuition only. Additional costs, such as textbooks, uniforms, equipment, and travel expenses, are not included.

Eligibility Criteria Bursary for culinary

To qualify for this prestigious bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. General Requirements:
    • Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
    • Be ready to begin studies in February 2025.
    • Commit to full-time, in-person learning.
  2. Programme-Specific Requirements:
    • Foundational Cookery Programme:
      • Age: 18 years or older
      • Education: Completed Grade 9 or NQF Level 2
    • Professional Chef Programme:
      • Age: 17 years or older (must turn 18 by 30 June 2025)
      • Education: Completed Grade 10 or NQF Level 2 with Mathematics Literacy
    • Professional Patisserie Programme:
      • Age: 18 years or older
      • Education: Completed Grade 12/Matric or NQF Level 2 with Mathematics Literacy
  3. Additional Requirements:
    • Agree to the terms and conditions of the bursary.
    • Be willing to act as a brand ambassador for Capsicum Culinary Studio.
    • Have no prior culinary or pastry qualifications.
    • Not be a Capsicum staff member, family member, or friend.

Application Process Bursary for culinary

Applications must be submitted online via the Capsicum Culinaire Challenge Application Portal.
Applicants must prepare the following documents to complete their application:

  1. Certified copy of your ID.
  2. Proof of Grade 9/10/12 or NQF Level 2 completion.
  3. A motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary.
  4. A video showcasing your culinary skills, including ingredient selection, preparation, and final presentation.
