About the Roche Diagnostics Bursary
Roche is inviting applications for its 2025 academic year bursary program. This initiative reflects Roche’s commitment to skills development, meaningful socio-economic transformation, and the broader development goals of South Africa.
The bursary offers comprehensive support, which may include:
- Full coverage of tuition and registration fees.
- Accommodation and meals.
- Study materials such as books, stationery, and other necessities as approved.
Eligibility Criteria – STEM bursary for university students and college
To qualify for the Roche Diagnostics Bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship: South African citizens only.
- Age: Under 30 years of age.
- Education:
- Current matric students (Class of 2024).
- Those taking a gap year after completing matric in 2023.
- Students enrolled for full-time studies at a DHET/CHE-registered tertiary institution in 2025.
- Studying towards an NQF-6 or higher qualification, such as a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours.
- Exclusions:
- Students pursuing N4/N5/N6 or Higher Certificate qualifications.
- Masters or Doctoral students.
- Students at TVETs, community colleges, or graduate/business schools.
Fields of Study – STEM bursary for university students and college
Roche Diagnostics will consider applicants pursuing studies in:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) fields.
- Medicine or medical sciences.
- Human Resources.
- Marketing.
- Legal studies.
- Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Business Management.
Academic Requirements
- A minimum average of 60% for the most recent full academic year.
- For applicants with a verified disability, a minimum average of 50% is required.
Additional Support – STEM bursary for university students and college
Successful applicants may receive:
- A laptop for academic use.
- Ongoing psycho-social support through Excel@Uni.
- Mentorship programs to build personal and professional skills.
