National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF): Internships 2024

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Internship Programme 2024.

Internship Application Closing Date: 12 May 2024

Internship Location: Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) together with the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture (DSAC), in response to the Presidential stimulus programme (PESP), is looking to recruit South African graduates and unemployed youth (aged 35 and younger) to assist with the digitization project for the National Archives and Records Services of South Africa (NARSSA).

The project will be based at the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa in Pretoria and will end on 31 March 2025.

The following Internship Opportunities are open for applications:

Archivist (Arrangement and Description) Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.01 – Archivist – Arrangement and Description

Qualification: 4 year Diploma or 3 year Degree in: Archival studies

Assistant Archivist Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.02 – Assistant Archivist – Arrangement and Description

Qualification: Must have Grade 12 / Matric ceritificate

Conservation Assistant Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.03 – Conservation Assistant

Qualification: Must have Grade 12 / Matric ceritificate

Supervisor – Conservation Laboratory Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.04 – Supervisor Conservation Laboratory

Qualification: Must have Grade 12 / Matric ceritificate

Archive Assistant Housekeeping Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.05 – Archive Assistant – House Keeping

Qualification: Abet level 4 / Grade 10

Scanner Operator Intern

Qualification: Must have Grade 12 / Matric ceritificate

Supervisor Audio-Visual Archivist: Film and Video Preservation Intern

Qualification: A recognised 3 year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with an appropriate major subject, such as History or Archival Studies

1-2 Years experience in working at a Film Archive or similar environment

Supervisor NARSSA Digitisation Hub Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.09 – Supervisor NARSSA Digitisation Hub

Qualification: A recognised 3 year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with an appropriate major subject, such as History or Archival Studies

1-2 Years experience in working at a Film Archive or similar environment

Supervisor Archivist Cartographic Material Intern

Qualification: A recognised 3 year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with an appropriate major subject, such as History or Archival Studies

Handyman Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.13 – Handyman

Qualification: Appropriate certificate or proof of work experience

Plumber Intern

Reference No: NARSSA.14 – Plumber

Qualification: Trade certificated plumber
