Eligibility Criteria – Bursaries for university students

Before applying for the Railway Safety Regulator Bursary, make sure you meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. South African Citizenship: You must hold South African citizenship.
  2. Age Range: Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 35.
  3. Matric Qualification: You must be currently in Matric (2024) or have already completed Matric.
  4. Field of Study: You must be studying or planning to study in one of the specified fields at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa, including TVET colleges, universities of technology, or private/public universities.
  5. Academic Performance:
    • First-year students in 2025 must have achieved at least 65% in their Grade 11 final or Matric mid-term results.
    • Current students must maintain a minimum overall average of 65% in their academic year.
  6. No Other Sponsorship: You should not be receiving financial assistance from any other organization or institution.
