  • Mining Engineering

Eligibility Requirements – Bursary in engineering and geological fields

To be eligible for the Mbuyelo Coal Ntimeni Colliery Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship.
  • Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
  • Must be enrolled or intending to enroll in an undergraduate degree in one of the specified fields in 2025.
  • Must be registered or provisionally accepted at a recognized and accredited South African tertiary institution.
  • Strong academic record with a minimum overall average of 60%:
    • For Matric students, this requirement must be met in the June results.
    • For current tertiary students, the minimum average is 60% for all major subjects.
  • Preference will be given to students residing within the Emakhazeni Local Municipality (Mpumalanga), but students outside this area are also encouraged to apply.
