Available Fields of Study – Bursary for Mining fields

The bursary covers the following disciplines:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Geological and Earth Sciences
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Science
  • Financial Studies
  • Other fields (limited to internal applicants)

Eligibility Requirements – Bursary for Mining fields

External Candidates

  1. Must be enrolled or accepted at a recognized South African higher learning institution.
  2. Proof of registration and formal quotations for tuition and other study-related expenses must be submitted.
  3. Current matric students must provide June results with a minimum aggregate of 60%.
  4. Tertiary students should have at least 60% in major subjects.
  5. Proof of income per household and residence is mandatory.
  6. Applicants must reside in Springs, Benoni, Brakpan, Nigel, or surrounding townships.
  7. South African citizenship is required.
  8. All documentation must be SAPS-certified and submitted in PDF format.

Internal Candidates (Gold One employees or their dependents):

  1. At least one year of employment with Gold One is required.
  2. Applicants must provide an internal application form, proof of registration, and related expenses.
  3. All documents must be certified and uploaded as PDFs.

What the Bursary Covers

The Gold One bursary includes:

What the Bursary Does Not Cover

  • Monthly stipends
  • Transportation costs
  • Laptops and data
  • Meals
  • Short courses
