  • Engineering: All specialisations.
  • Environmental Sciences: Climate Sciences, Renewable Energy.
  • Information Sciences: Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Management, Information Technology.
  • Mathematical Sciences: Mathematics, Risk, Statistics.
  • Natural Sciences: Biosciences, Electronics, Physics.
  • Social Sciences and Law: Society and Sustainability, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Law.

What the Bursary Covers – Bursary for Agriculture and Engineering

The bursary provides comprehensive support, covering:

  • Tuition fees: Full coverage of study fees.
  • Learning resources: Required textbooks and study aids.
  • Computer: Provided for first-year students to assist with academic work.
  • Accommodation: Housing expenses are included.
  • Meals: Daily meals to support students’ nutrition.
  • Monthly stipend: For personal expenses to help students focus on their studies.

Eligibility Criteria – Bursary for Agriculture and Engineering

Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for the bursary:

  • South African Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of South Africa.
  • Demographic: Must identify as Black, as defined by the BBBEE Act.
  • Age: Applicants must be under 21 years in the first year of study.
  • Matric Requirements: Must have achieved at least a level 5 in Mathematics in Matric.
  • Academic Standing: A strong academic record is essential.
  • University Admission: Must have applied and been provisionally accepted to a public South African university for the 2025 academic year.
  • Financial Status: Household income should not exceed R600,000 per year.
  • Intention: Must plan to pursue full-time undergraduate studies in one of the eligible fields for 2025.
