About AGSA Bursary
The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) is accepting applications for the 2025 academic year bursaries.
Requirements/Conditions
- The bursary is only for Chartered Accountancy studies, i.e. must be studying or intending to study towards being a Chartered Accountant (i.e. BCom Accounting CA stream, Bachelor of Accounting CA stream and BCompt).
- The bursary will only be awarded for full time studies done at a University accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
- Once awarded, the bursary will cover tuition fees, university accommodation, meals and books.
- Bursary holders are required to serve articles / enter into a training contract with the organisation on completion of their studies as per the bursary contract.
- Only South African citizens will be awarded a bursary.
All candidates must be:
- Proficient in English with strong communication skills
- Have good interpersonal skills
- Have a drive, determination and commitment to succeed
- Have strong leadership potential
Matric students (applying for 1st year):
- You must achieve a Matric exemption with university entrance
- You must achieve a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy)
- You must achieve a minimum result of 60% for English
1st year students (applying for 2nd year ):
- You must achieve a minimum result of 60% for Financial Accounting
- You must achieve a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy) and English in Matric
2nd year students (applying for 3rd year):
- You must achieve a minimum result of 60% for Financial Accounting
- You must achieve a minimum result of 60% for Management Accounting
- You must be studying towards one of the Chartered Accountancy qualification
Final year students (applying for postgraduate studies):
- You must achieve a minimum result of 55% for all core modules of your qualification
- You must be studying towards one of the Chartered Accountancy qualifications listed above
- You must be entering your postgraduate studies in 2025
- You must have achieved acceptance into the CTA programme
