Investec offers a High School Bursary aimed at supporting learners from township and rural schools who demonstrate strong academic potential, particularly in Mathematics and Physical Science. This program is specifically for students in Grades 10-12.
When to Apply:
Applications for the Investec High School Bursary open annually on 1 May and close on 30 September. There are no extensions for late applications.
Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must be South African citizens.
- Selection is based on financial need and academic potential.
- Candidates must excel in Pure Mathematics, Physical Science, Accounting, and English, achieving at least 70% in these subjects.
- Applicants should have been enrolled at their current school for at least one year by the end of the year.
- The bursary supports students within their existing schools and does not facilitate transfers to new schools.

Criteria for Schools:
- Schools should demonstrate:
- A minimum of 75% of learners taking Pure Mathematics.
- A minimum 90% matric pass rate with 80% qualifying for university entrance.
- At least 75% of learners achieving 50% or above in Pure Mathematics.
- A strong pass rate in English, with at least 80% of learners scoring above 50%.
- A supportive and holistic learning environment.
Application Procedure:
- Complete the application form with all required documents.
- Ensure all supporting documents are certified.
- Required documents include:
- Certified South African ID or birth certificate.
- 2023 June and final results.
- June 2024 results (Grade 9, 10, or 11).
- Certificates of achievements at school.
- Proof of income for parents/guardians (pay slips, tax returns, affidavits as applicable).
- Additional documents as specified (death certificates, divorce certificates, sworn statements).
- Curriculum vitae (CV).
