This bursary is aimed at students pursuing an undergraduate qualification in Actuarial Science.

Bursary Coverage and Benefits

The Liberty Bursary will cover the following expenses:

  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Travel allowance (if applicable)

Additionally, students will receive support and networking opportunities during their studies and have the chance to partake in vacation work. Upon graduation, students will be guaranteed employment at Liberty.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen (by birth or descent)
  • Have completed Matric
  • Be studying full-time towards an Actuarial Science degree
  • Be entering the 2nd or higher year of study in 2025
  • Be enrolled at a recognised and accredited University in South Africa
  • Have achieved and maintained high academic results in the first year of tertiary study
  • Achieved a minimum result of 65% for Actuarial and Mathematical modules
  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 60%
  • Possess strong leadership skills
  • Participation in extracurricular activities (sports, Olympiads, chess club, debate teams, etc.) will be advantageous
