Afrimat (Glen Douglas Dolomite and Afrimat Contracting International) invites South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2025.
Bursary application closing date: 15 July 2024
Bursaries will be awarded to students residing in the Midvaal Municipality area (Gauteng) and the Mbombela Municipality area (Mpumalanga), for studies within the following fields (National Diploma/ BEng/ BSc/ Diploma/ Degree):
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted โ if you do not receive any feedback, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must reside within the Midvaal Municipality area, in Gauteng province OR the Mbombela Municipality area, in Mpumalanga province
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above
- You must be entering your 3rd or final year of study in 2025
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- You must pay close attention to detail
- You must be honest and reliable
- You must be able to adapt to change
- You must be able to work under pressure
- You must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness
- Preference will be given to students from designated groups and historically disadvantaged backgrounds, in line with Afrimatโs commitment to Employment Equity and diversifying its workforce
