The Gauteng Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) is offering bursaries for the 2024 academic year to students with disabilities residing in Gauteng province.
Expenses Covered:
The bursary will cover the following expenses:
- Tuition fees
- Study materials
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizen
- Living with a disability
- Permanent resident of Gauteng province
- Completed Matric
- Studying or intending to study towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in any field
- Studying or accepted to study at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa

Documents to be submitted:
- Application letter (stating why you are applying, field of study, year of study, and institution)
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate (certified copy)
- Full academic record if currently studying (certified copy)
- All completed qualifications if applicable (certified copies)
- Proof of admission and registration for 2024 (on institutionโs letterhead)
- Statement of fees/quote of tuition fees (on institutionโs letterhead)
- Proof of residence in Gauteng
- Proof of disability (letter from a health practitioner confirming disability)

16 February 2024 (Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted. Apply before the closing date to ensure consideration.)
