The Gauteng Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2024

The Gauteng Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) is offering bursaries for the 2024 academic year to students with disabilities residing in Gauteng province.

Expenses Covered:

The bursary will cover the following expenses:

  • Tuition fees
  • Study materials

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Living with a disability
  • Permanent resident of Gauteng province
  • Completed Matric
  • Studying or intending to study towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in any field
  • Studying or accepted to study at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa

How to apply

Interested and eligible candidates can apply via email to lebo.moetji@gauteng.gov.za. Insert โ€œGauteng COGTA Bursary 2024โ€ in the email subject line.

Documents to be submitted:

  1. Application letter (stating why you are applying, field of study, year of study, and institution)
  2. ID document (certified copy)
  3. Matric certificate (certified copy)
  4. Full academic record if currently studying (certified copy)
  5. All completed qualifications if applicable (certified copies)
  6. Proof of admission and registration for 2024 (on institutionโ€™s letterhead)
  7. Statement of fees/quote of tuition fees (on institutionโ€™s letterhead)
  8. Proof of residence in Gauteng
  9. Proof of disability (letter from a health practitioner confirming disability)

Closing Date:

16 February 2024 (Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted. Apply before the closing date to ensure consideration.)
