Author, editor and legendary chef Dorah Sitole has died.

Dorah has been an exceptional chef and enjoyed a long four decades run in her career. She was the food editor for True Love magazine, and trained as a cordon bleu cook and also a member of the Professional Culinary Association.

Dorah travelled and showcased South African cuisine to the world and in October 2019 she released her latest cookbook titled 40 Years of Iconic Food which tells the story of her life through recipes. Dorah Sitole was South Africa’s first black food writer!

Details around her death is still unknown at this stage but her death is quite saddening, but her family confirmed her death at a Johannesburg hospital on Sunday.

Dorah is also the parent of the well-known South African Actor Phumzile Sitole, the star that joined the Star Trek cast, in season three.

Dorah Sitole will forever be remembered.
